City Council Sends Three Rent-Control Eviction Protections to November Ballot: "Three of the proposals — a state-required environmental finding, a set of administrative updates to the Rent Control Board paired with a reaffirmation of the city's just-cause eviction laws, and a prohibition on evictions over relatively small rental debts — were adopted together, 6-0. A separate measure, which would bar evictions when tenants add new occupants to a household, passed 4-2." More details here.

Puppy Yoga Studio Opens on Main St.: Puppy Sphere, a wellness events company that pairs yoga with puppy playtime, opened last week at 2400 Main St. To mark the return, the company said it will donate $1 from every ticket sold during the studio's first month to local animal rescues. The studio's signature offering is a 75-minute session called Wellness Puppy Yoga, which combines a 45-minute yoga flow with 30 minutes of what the company calls puppy chill time. More details here.

LA Urban Fitness Returning To Main St: "Ever since the implosion of erstwhile darling Umami Burger a while ago, the space at 235 Main St in Venice has sat empty. That’s about to change. A banner over the front of it lets us know that LA Urban Fitness is set to open a cafe and nutritional supplement shop. LA Urban Fitness used to occupy the nearby space at 3015 Main St in Santa Monica, just a few blocks away. If they follow their old model, we can expect a menu of smoothies, cold-pressed juices, Groundwork coffee, and snacks." More details here.
