Mission Statement
The Airport Commission acts in an advisory capacity to the City Council in all matters pertaining to the administration of the Municipal Airport and to aviation matters generally to the extent that they affect the City.
The Airport Commission has five members, each serving a four-year term. Commissioners must be qualified electors of the City of Santa Monica and may not hold paid office or employment in the City government (SMMC City Charter Article X 1015). The Airport Commission are required to:
(a) Act in an advisory capacity to the City Council in all matters pertaining to the Municipal Airport and to aviation matters generally to the extent that they affect the City.
(b) Consider and recommend City Council rules and regulations for the management and operation of the Municipal Airport. (Amended at General Municipal Election, November 7, 2006; certified by Res. No. 10187CCS)

The Santa Monica Airport Commission meets the 4th Monday of each Month at 7:00 P.M., except in August & December when the Commission is in recess.
The regular Airport Commission meeting held at 7:00 PM on
Monday, April 22, 2024, has been canceled and will be rescheduled.
